Zygopetalum Orchid Plants
About Zygopetalum Orchids
Zygopetalum orchids are known for being strongly scented. Growers advise hobbyists to make them companions for Cymbidium orchids because they pretty much have the same requirements.
The edge of the Zygopetalum on the Cymbidium is that the former produces flowers all year round. Zygopetalums are relatively easy to grow, thriving in moderate light and in a moist environment. In the wild, they are usually found in the rainforests of South and Central America.
Zygopetalums are categorized as soft-leaf orchids because their leaves are leathery and strap-like. Learn more about Zygopetalum Orchids in the Huntleyas and Related Orchids book here.
Zygopetalum blooms may come in colors of white, cream, bright green, burgundy, and purple with patterns usually resembling those of a lilac.
